I began my walk with Christ when I was in 6th grade after a retreat weekend with the youth group at my church. It was a weekend filled with lessons and guest speakers on what it means to be a Christian. At the end of the weekend, the message of the gospel was presented to us and I gave my life to Jesus. Even though I gave my life to Christ in 6th grade, and read my bible and prayed. It wasn’t until my sophomore year of high school that I really began taking faith seriously and putting Christ first in my life. By my senior of high school, I felt God calling me into youth ministry. Following God’s lead, I ended up at Campbellsville University where I graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in biblical studies with a minor in homeland security (still had the childhood dream of being a secret agent). Since graduating college, I have been active in many different forms of youth ministry; from working as a youth pastor to leading inter-denominational retreat weekends for youth around the city of Louisville. Five years ago, God led me to accept the youth minister position here at First Baptist Church New Castle.
